Vivienne Dress

(5 customer reviews)

$12.50

The Vivienne dress is fitted with princess seam panels at the bodice, flowing into a flattering circle or box pleated slimmer cut skirt. It features a vintage Peter Pan collar, feature tabs with over-sized decorative buttons and closes with an invisible zip at the back. Choose from sleeveless or three quarter length sleeves, knee-length, short or peplum length. As shown in the gallery it makes a fabulous combo with the ‘Wonderland Cardigan’ and the ‘Western Blouse’ for a school uniform.

Fabric:
This dress is fitted and you don’t want it to be too loose-fitting. If you are making this dress for a special occasion such as a wedding reception or other big festivities, I would choose a gorgeous Dupion silk. But for a lovely summer dress, you need something more comfortable. To achieve this, choose a cotton sateen with around 3 % Lycra or Elastane. Sateen is not the same as satin! Satin drapes very well and sateen does not. It has a subtle sheen but creates a more structural silhouette. This works especially well with pleated skirts. Check out the customer gallery to see what they have created with the most gorgeous fabrics.

My daughter looked so chic at her First Holy Communion. She was thrilled and so was I. This is a superb pattern!

  2. Ela B

Elegant, versatile, has several options and most importantly it is tailored fitted for my child. This dress fits her like a glove in slender version. I like that a slender version is added to this pattern because going a size down or up would not give me that perfect fit but more like what you find in stores. Once again I learned something new, like how to apply invisible zipper with the lining and to achieve professional finish we all look for in handmade dresses. Every time we wear Vivienne we get so many compliments.

  3. Natalya L

As s beginner I was very happy with a result. It was easy to follow, the video supporting pattern are so helpful. I’ve just bought another pattern, I’m very pleased with my experience so far!

  4. Cathie Marie

I made my granddaughters Christmas party dress using this pattern and I was so happy with the results. The tailored fit was perfect and the scoop neckline looked amazing. I used the ‘slender’ version as she is a very tall but very slim child and usually to get the length she needs we have to forfeit the fit on the bodice. Not anymore with Marina’s fabulous designs.
